God burns with jealousy for His people. He created us. He loved us first. He gives us everything. Then, we go and ignore him, walk away, or maybe not even believe in Him. Anyone would be angry if treated in such a disrespectful way. His jealousy is Holy, but it also comes with wrath. It is different from us mere mortals jealousy. Our jealousy comes from a place of ownership. His comes from a place of love.
God dwells among His people. He knows what is best for everyone. He is willing to save us from ourselves. No matter what we do, He is always faithful and righteous. He encourages us to be strong in our service to Him. He wants to give us blessings, not judgment, starting with restoration.
Obedience provides blessings. When we live a blessed life, why would we ever have fear? Fear is tricky, it has a way of taking hold of a person even when it is not rational. That is why we have to be contentious of it and be intentional to turn it away. Remember your foundation to be able to speak truth and have sound judgment. Don't fall into the trap of lies and evil ways. Your true inheritance is near.
Fasting is part of obedience. When you do fast, make it a joyful experience. You are getting closer to God and when it is over, then you get to feast with a new perspective. Fasting is an opportunity to give and receive love, truth, and peace. You are able to seek God's favor along with other prayerful petitions because it makes you strong. Let your laments turn into joy.
Ironically, when you are on a fast, people will be drawn to you. Remember to use that as an opportunity not to talk about your fast as much as it to testify about how good God is. It all comes down to your love for God and His love for you.
