Zechariah had eight visions in one night. It must have been a long night for him. The last vision of was of four chariots. It was the finale before he had to wake up and get to work. This vision is the final resolution.
The four chariots came into the scene between two mountains that appeared to be bronze (Heaven's Gates). Each chariot was led by a single horse: red, black, white, and dapple. These were powerful horses because they represented Heaven's four spirits for the world. Then the visions were over, but God was not done communicating with Zechariah.
God came to Zechariah in a different way, through His Word, to tell him that Joshua to make a crown. The crown would go on the high priest, Joshua's head. He was ordered to reconstruct God's temple. He would act as the ruler and reign in peace. There would be harmony between the government and the church while working together in obedience to God.
The point is that the crown would reside in God's temple. Joshua will gather the people from far away as he diligently obeys God. They would have purpose for God. Those that had not returned to God, it was the final call to return to fulfill the covenant contingency.
