Abaddon

 

    There is a sea monster that will be released during the end of time period.  He will emerge from the abyss.  His name is Abaddon.  We don't know when he will come, but he is the horror movie coming to life.  He already exist down there somewhere, hidden away where he can't get loose until God allows it.  His very name means destruction or place of destruction.  

    Abaddon is horrifying and powerful.  He is a force for evil, not good, but he serves a purpose.  God's people have to live in faith to know that He will protect them from Abaddon.  Anyone that is not a follower of Jesus will be tortured for five months by this monster.  Death is not granted during this time.  

    We know Abaddon will be released.  We know he is a sea monster that comes from the depths of the sea or hell itself.  What we do not know is when he will appear.  We do not know if he will stick to the seas or come on land.    If he comes one land will he stay near the ocean or venture away?  There are many questions that we will not have the answer to until the time of revealing occurs.   

    There are no secrets from God.  That means He does not plan this, but He does allow it to happen.  This is proof that He is telling Satan that He knows his plans and that He knows the human heart.

    Abaddon is the king of the monsters.  He is also an angel that followed Satan.  His name Abaddon is Hebrew, but he is also called Apollon in Greek.  He will appear during the first woe and will disappear before the second woe of Revelations.  The angels will be nearby watching and protecting God's children.  

    Abaddon's presence is just the beginning of the end.  The sad part is that it has already been predicted that the people being tortured will not turn to God.  They will turn to their idols and demons for comfort.  We know that it will not end well and there is nothing we can do.  The number 11 signifies disorder, chaos, and judgement.  I am not sure how Abaddon is mentioned only on 11 in verses, but it does describe him.

    All we can do is live as a good witness now and pray for people to have a repentant heart.  Some stories just do not have a happy ending.  That is reality.  For those that repent will find their happy ending, but everyone else will live eternity in a horror movie.
