To know what God's will is for your life begins with salvation. You have to trust God even when things are not clear. When you pray, you have to expect Him to answer. Then, you have to listen. None of us can fully understand God, but we can know His character. If you trust that, then you will never be lost even when you take a few detours.
God's ways are beyond our understanding. That is why we have to acknowledge His will over our daily lives. He is in the details. He is wise and knows what is best for you. His vision for your life is probably looks differently than the one you have for yourself. That is okay. You can readjust.
Noah found favor with God because he walked righteously when no one else did. He stayed on his path with God no matter how difficult life became. It is not easy being different in the name of God. Noah did not sacrifice his conversations with God, his conduct for God, or his character on behalf of God. It would have been easier for him if he had, but then he would have died with everyone else.
How do you relate to God? Do you relate to His Word? If you do, then there are people in your life that think you are a weirdo, radical, odd, or weak minded. They did with Noah. Are are you willing to be all that in God's name?
Sometimes the path that God puts you on is beyond your vision. You may question the financing or other aspects to get the job done. You may worry about the deadline. It may be tight. You may miss a step here and there which is frustrating because you have to back track to where you missed the step and start over from there. Those are details that God will take care of if you will let him.
Instead of obsessing over or worrying about the details, just start moving. The Holy Spirit is there to help keep you on track. Don't wait for explanations on why you are doing what you are doing. Just follow instructions. The why will reveal itself when it is time. The fact is either you trust God or you don't.
Trust God to provide what you need when you need it. It is ideal to have everything together before the project begins, but the reality is that it rarely works that way. You are willing to show up and put in the work or you are not. When God tell you to do it, do it now. Don't wait for a reason or explanation because He does not owe you one.
Pray through your doubt, fear, or confusion. If you have questions, then ask just don't let your questions keep you from doing what is right. Don't let people be a stumbling block by confusing your or putting doubt into your mind. God chose you for His purpose. You don't have to understand why you were chosen for the job. God will deal with the stumbling blocks, doubt, and confusion. Just act in trust and follow His instructions.
We all have the same boundaries, instructions for salvation, and laws of obedience. However, all of our paths are individualized, so that we can come together as one (as the living church). The questions you need to ask yourself is will I be courageous and follow God faithfully? Will I trust and worship God in the good times and the bad times? Am I willing to follow Him outside of by security or comfort zone?
Set your foundation of faith. Keep it simple. There is no need to complicate your life more than it already is complicated by factors of the world. The Holy Spirit will take it slow and your journey will become more natural over time. Your trust in God will become like breathing. You only need to take the first step, then the next, and the next thing you know you have changed into a loyal servant of God. This is the key to living a full life.
