Personal Relationship

A personal relationship with God is a relationship of substance.  It is where you find your energy, rest, comfort, peace, and more.  In life what grabs your attention?  What upsets you  What keeps you awake at night?  Do you turn to God or involve God in any of these?  If not, then you are missing out.
The yoke, or burdens, of the world are heavy.  They are too heavy for one person to carry.  The more you try the more you will exhaust yourself and fail.  You will fall hard whether it is your health, carrier, or relationships.  We were never meant to face life alone.
Jesus' burden is light in comparison.  He may ask things of you that place you out of your comfort zone, but you never face them alone.  He carries most of the burden himself.  When you are sick, hurt, scared, anxious, or just need someone, then He is the answer.
God is your director in all circumstances.  This is one way He personalizes the relationship.  What you go through with Him, He never will go through with anyone else.  Your experiences, memory, chemistry, body,  emotions, and mind are all uniquely you.  He made you unique, so that the relationship you have with Him is uniquely special and intimate.
God is always there for you.  He is never too busy, tired, or uncaring.  He is there in every moment of life never abandoning or forsaking you.  You are never alone even if you try to be or think you are.  It is not creepy, overbearing, or demanding.  He is just there waiting to spend time with you.
He is there to teach you.  He teaches you how to be gentle, kind, and humble.  He teaches you how to get your mind and heart to rest.  It comes down to spending time with Him and trusting Him.  Look at your life with a we concept instead of an I concept.  It changes the way you think.
Your personal relationship with God is your choice.  You choose to walk with Him or to walk away from Him.  He never walks away from you.  He is your security in life.  He is always more gentle with you than He needs to be because He understands you.  He senses your needs.  The Holy Spirit interprets them.
Your relationship with God is personal because He promised that it would be.  When you lean into Him you find rest in the areas you need it.  The unknown does not give your fear or anxiety.  He braces you against life's storms.  You have no idea how much worse things could be if you didn't have Him to protect you.
A personal relationship with God is faith in Jesus.  It is salvation from your eternal death.  It is a walk of life together with the Holy Spirit living in you.  It gives you a presence, power, and position.  It takes all life's burdens from weighing down your soul.  It is all that matters in life.  If you have a personal relationship with God, then everything else will fall into place by just following Him.
