God knows the best way of life for everyone. He is always trying to get your attention to get you on the path He designed just for your life. His way leads to freedom. The way of fear, pride, and independence will only get you lost. You will never find what you are really looking for in life on your own.
When the Hebrew nation escaped Egypt there was some fear of repercussion. That is all they had known. They had never experienced a good life. However, they had dreams. There was excitement, fear, anxiety, exhaustion, and more going throughout the nation. Moses did not have time to feel anything. He had to stay focused and lead his people to freedom. It was his responsibility to guide them to their dream. That was a heavy responsibility.
If everything had gone as planned, it would have only taken two weeks for them to leave Egypt and enter their new national land, the promised land. However, when does anything ever go as planned? It ended up taking them 40 years because they were chained down to unbelief and rebelling against God.
Disobedience always has consequences. You cannot expect to reap the benefits of the promises of God if you refuse to meet the requirements. You will never find freedom if you will not let go of all the things holding you back and rely on faith in Jesus.
Walking is faith is trusting that God's plan is the best plan for your life no matter what it looks like. God is in charge, so you can relax. You can trust that He will reveal Himself as needed when you are following Him. He tries to make Himself known to unbelievers, the hard hearted, and independent. If you don't find God it is because you do not want to.
God's path for you is the best path, but it may not look like that. It is not the obvious path in your life. It is much less traveled than the clear paths, so you have to pay a little more attention. You may have to move a little slower. Following Jesus is unpredictable and it is about endurance not speed. You want to be able to last until the finish, so slow and steady may be the way.
Walking in faith means facing impossible people and positions in life. It is hard to understand at time, but trust that it is making your stronger. The world needs to see you live faithfully so that even they know that you are not a hypocrite. Living by faith means living transparently. If you mess us the world sees, but it can be an opportunity because they are also watching how you handle the situation.
Faith that leads to freedom means you accept that you will not understand everything, but you trust God to make it work out for the best. Your faith becomes your freedom statement, so that when you feel trapped you can still see freedom. You just have to stay in God's Word, prayer, and be ready to move when He directs because He will show you a way out. You just have to follow.
