What is your personal assignment given by God to you? What is your purpose in this world? Unless you invest a portion of yourself and time into God, how can you answer? God ask so little of us in comparison to what He gives. It is not asking to much for us to give a little of ourselves back to Him. The more you give, the more you see the benefits.
It is a great adventure to give yourself to God and grow in that relationship. Salvation is only the beginning. God had a purpose for you before you were ever born. Learning what that purpose is gives you steadiness in life, but growing and working toward fulfilling that purpose gives you great joy. You will still face problems, times where you could doubt, and times that your courage has to be in place. That does not mean that your are saved or lost your purpose in life. It just means you live in the fallen world with everyone else.
God put you where you are right now to workout some things, solve problems, and improve the situation. As a Christian you should always try to leave things better than they were, but understand that it all comes down to the power in which God places on you in the situation. Sometimes you just need to listen in silence. It is not always up to you solve the problem. Sometimes you just need to open the door for God to be able to work in your life and the life of other people.
There is a difference between assumption and assignment. We have assumptions about life. They may be on track for what God has for you, but they may not be. You need to pray over assumptions and ask for revelation. Don't let you assumptions make you miss your assignment.
Assignment is something you should not question God about. It is part of you are as a Christian. Look at the sisters Mary and Martha. One was so busy doing what she thought needed to be done that she missed out on opportunities to spend with Jesus. While the other sister appeared to be neglecting her duties, but found great reward with using her time with Jesus.
Do not resent the assignment that God gave you. Not everyone can be in the spot light all the time. Plus even those that are had to invest years in their relationship with God. Anger toward God's path for your life only reveals that you are disappointed by faulty assumptions.
No where in the Bible does God ever say that your life will be pleasant and easy in following Jesus. He says die to yourself and pick up Jesus' cross. That says that you have to lower yourself to be lifted by God. That means being a servant to those who will never appreciate it to glorify God.
Living on assumptions has the power to cripple your mindset. Invest yourself in your relationship with God without holding back. It frees your mind to see and understand things that a burdened mind cannot fathom. Don't live in the clouds of dreams, but make dreams a reality by giving them over to God and following His lead. That means that your dreams may be changed or replaced as your heart changes.
Face reality head on and avoid looking back with the "what ifs". It benefits no one and only puts your mind in a place of ingratitude and frustration. Look forward and keep with God to avoid a life of disappointment. God has not forgotten about you, so don't forget about Him. Invest in what is profitable for you: time with God, health through diet, balanced life between work and time with loved ones, and more.
