Marriage is Complicated Part 1

 

    Marriage is complicated. God designed it perfectly to work, function, and bring joy to life.  However, Satan came in and introduced temptation.  People give into temptation and sin.  Sin destroyed everything that is good and right in the world.  It is sin of the human nature that makes marriage complicated.

    Sin brings consequences.  If you bring sin into your marriage it can lead to disease, broken family, dysfunction, or death.  Adam and Eve lived in perfection.  They are the only couple that ever lived perfection, but they listened to Satan.  The consequences were curses on the sexes and being expelled from Eden.  They were the original people to break the perfect connection with God.

    Life in Eden has no comparison.  It had no struggles, stress, no distorted entertainment (all nature all the time).  The life of Adam and Eve was not corrupt.  There was no government.  They only had one rule to live life in perfect harmony.  It is sin that required government, law, and rules.  They were able to go around naked without perversion, embarrassment, self-image issues, or being self-conscious.  

    Lucifer was the angel of light.  He has a way of making sin look like the right thing to do.  He lost the honored name of Lucifer when he was expelled from Heaven. It was replaced by Satan, Devil, serpent, and the dragon.  He chose to seek to destroy humans to hurt God.  That is why he has declared that he is the ruler of earth.  That just is not true.  He has a lot of influence and appears to be in control, but God has the last say.

    God created man in His image.  People's purpose was to have a relationship with God, rule over the animals, take care of the earth, and reproduce to cover the world.  This life brought blessings along with a close relationship with God.  Satan showed up after Adam and Eve were married by God to attack the unity, power, and blessings of marriage to ultimately destroy their relationship with God.  He won that original battle because they were not prepared.

    Satan's agenda is to destroy marriage because it destroys the family, then community, and makes taking over the government and leadership so much easier.  He attacks what God prioritizes for people.  He targeted Eve because she was the weaker sex.  She was able to be deceived.  Satan couldn't deceive Adam, so he used Eve to manipulate him.  It was all innocent, but Satan tainted their innocence. 

    Husbands are meant to protect their wives.  It was Adam's duty to train Eve on how to follow God.  Men are the head of the household. If he will not do the job, then women have no choice an the family will never function as well as God had designed it to work.  Men have to step up to protect, lead, guide, and influence the direction the family will take in life.
