When you study the Bible you need to ask yourself a few questions. You start with prayer to get yourself in the right frame of mind to focus and ask God to reveal truths to you today. When you open the Bible it can be prepared or just opening to a certain place.
Once you are reading the Bible ask yourself what does this scripture say? You want to observe what it meant and what it still means today. You want to interpret the meaning to apply to your life, attitude, or mind set. Then you ask yourself what you should do to apply it.
There are a lot of ways to see application. Ask yourself what is this passage teaching? Does this section of scriptures expose any sin or error in judgment? Does it confirm what I already believe or do I need to make some changes? Do I need to correct my though and action progression. What is God instructing me on in this passage of scripture?
If you have brokenness in your life, then does this scripture help bring healing? We all are broken in places, but we need to seek to find healing. We need to turn to God to become whole and be able to serve Him in any way He calls.
Jesus is near the broken hearted. He is there to help heal and give comfort. He is in control no matter what it may feel or look like. It is faith that opens your eyes to the unseen world. It is faith that opens you to true healing. It is faith that gets you to places you never imagined and answers with miracles. Step out into the unknown in faith. It may be birthed by desperation, but it will make you strong.
