Storms in life come and can make you question everything. You may even question your faith at times. That is okay because when you come through with your faith still intact, you find it stronger than it was before.
You will discover gratitude for what you experienced because it brought you closer to God. If you lost your faith, then it means that it was never real or just superficial in the first place. It means it is time to go back to what you believe and figure out why. Life is going to batter you no matter what. It is just a matter of if you have God with you or not.
To be able to survive the storms of life you need the full armor of God. Satan is the master manipulator. You know the story of Achilles hill. That is mythology, but you can see how it applies. Satan finds your one weak spot and attacks there. It is normally a person's mind. If he can influence the way you think, then you will crumble.
Satan fires darts of destruction at you all the time. The only way you will be victorious is through Jesus. God has His angels fighting on your behalf when you are not even aware of it. That does not mean that you don't still need to pray.
Prayer is conversation between you and God. It is not about asking for things that He already knows you need. It is about protecting your mind by making it more like Jesus. God will protect your mind if you allow Him, but you have to let Him be the foundation of your thought process.
The more you converse with God and read His Word the more you understand Him. That means the stronger your mind becomes. The stronger your mind becomes the more you can control your emotions and feelings by aligning them with God's promises.
How strong is your faith? Are you ready for it to be tested? I promise it will be. Your faith being tested is the battle of the mind. Your mind is most vulnerable when you sleep, but that is why you have to trust God to protect your mind while you sleep. If you struggle with sleep, then you need to ask God for protection and to reveal to you truths about your lifestyle that need to change to be more like Jesus. If you are open, then the Holy Spirit will reveal the truth to you.
When you seek advise, seek it from strong Christians. It is the only way you will find true wisdom. They will help guide you on how to be prepared for spiritual warfare. The battle for your mind is spiritual warfare.
If you trust that God is stronger than Satan, then you will be okay. It does not mean that it is easy, but God is with you and you do not have to doubt that truth. Having wisdom also shows you not to pursue spiritual warfare, but not to run when it comes either. Wisdom and understanding allows you to find anchor in a safe harbor in God during the storms.
