A mission journey is the journey that starts at salvation. You start with growing in your relation and learning the Bible with prayer. Then without a conscious choice you start serving God. Once you start meeting opposition it becomes a choice to serve or turn to comfort. When you choose to walk with God, then your life really begins to hold purpose. You never really know where it will take you.
Paul and Luke were on a ship. They had served God telling everyone about Jesus for years. They faced hardship that is challenging. Luke tells the story of how God was in control giving him a calm within. That is thing, no matter what uncertainty you face, if you trust God, then it is just a detail of your life journey, not the main theme. Paul and Luke understood their purpose and were ready for whatever God may present: death or another step in the journey.
In life there are all sorts of storms or hurdles that can stop you in your tracks. Another option is you can be grateful for all the good times to get your through this not so good time. Paul was a preacher that became a prisoner. He had to ride out the storm. He couldn't give up or it would mean that he was giving up on God.
When all hope is lost, remember God's promises. Cling to your salvation, so that fear will not get a foothold in your heart. Paul had two friends, Luke and Aristarchus, to support him. Life is easier to face when you have good support. We all need people to pray for and over us. When you feel alone, reach out to those good friends or family to remind you that you are not alone.
