If you want to see changes in your life, then your motivations need to change. Pray over the change you want in you life. Ask God to reveal a way and He will. Be open to change and good heart and mind change will happen if you are willing to follow Him faithfully.
When you allow sin to reign over your motives, then you are only looking out for your own self-interest. It leads to rebellion against God. However, once you feel the impact of what Jesus did to free you from your chains, you start seeing freedom in a new light. You start to understand real love.
Christians should never live selfishly because we know the truth. We know that real freedom is showing Jesus' love to the world. When you became a Christian, you became a new creation of sorts because you became the purest form of yourself to reveal Jesus in all that you do. Your life before was forgettable and you become impactful in better way.
Instead of focusing on yourself, start focusing on the ministry Jesus is leading you toward. Reconcile with Jesus and ask Him to reveal your path. Start moving and things will fall into place. Christians are ambassadors for Jesus. We need to act like it. An ambassador is a messenger that represents a higher authority. There is no greater authority than God.
Live your life with conviction to drive your motivations. If you want to live right by Jesus, then you listen to the Holy Spirit and act accordingly. The results will be blessings and God's favor. You just need to understand what is right and how to do it in love.
Every motivation that you have needs to go through prayer. Ask God to show you how to impact the world around you today. Read His Word and spend time in a devotional: scripture, journaling, prayer, and meditation. You can even add in worship music if it helps you be in the worship spiritual state. The important thing is to stop fighting God with your selfish ambition and seek to follow Jesus by acting on the motivation that the Holy Spirit provides.
