Submissive Love

In the American culture the word submit is something people avoid.  It is considered being forced to give up a part of who you are for another person whether it is a spouse, boss, parent, or government.  No one wants to give over their power or control to anyone, so it is natural to recoil from the idea.
However, true love requires us to submit our spirit to God.  When we submit out of love, then we are not losing anything.  We are releasing the need to be in control over every aspect and finding peace in the fact that God has this.  To rebel against God is to resist His laws that He established to protect you.  When you chose to rebel you are hurting yourself, possible other people, and inviting judgment into your life.
To submit to authority is to display love by obeying the laws or rules.  The love is shown through integrity by paying our taxes or any other organization or person that we owe money.  God can use the leaders, good or bad, for His own purposes.  We only need to be responsible for our own decency, not theirs.
Be good to each other out of love instead of duty.  It may look the same, but the peace in your heart will have different results.  The most important commandment that God gave us is to love each other.  We need to find a way to put away our dark side, so that we can learn how to love more like Jesus loves.  True love submits because it is not a sacrifice, it is a desire for good.
