Law of Sin

God had to make sure that people understood what sin is.  It is a small unseemly word that hold a lot of impact.  Sin is anything we do unknowingly or knowingly that disrespects who God is and/or hurts other people.   It can be as simple as hurting ourselves.  Sin is the act of rebellion.
God knows just how dangerous sin is, so He created laws to help us prevent harm.  The world is a harsh place at times.  We don't need to add to the pain when we can avoid it.  Don't fall into the trap of the customs of the culture you live in.  Rise above and be a trend starter for the customs that honor God.  He rewards faithfulness.
The laws of sin are simple: don't worship any other god, follow spirits, curse your parents, or commit adultery.  It all leads to death.  Dishonoring the family through a multitude of different sins destroys the foundation of society.  It causes children to grow up not knowing how to be parents, so the brokenness turns into a cycle: rape, molestation, incest, or other abuses.
We can overcome the sin that we inherit from our families, but it is never easy.  It requires hard decisions in life.  Some of those may be walking away from your family possibly forever or being cut off by them.  To follow God instead of what is going around you is not easy, but sometimes it is necessary.
