Dream becomes Reality

 

    When you have been working toward your dream for a while and it you can almost taste getting it, it can be hard not to get tunnel vision.  Dreams are only good dreams when you are doing it God's way.  A dream can truly become a reality when you have people to share it with.  When it brings love and joy into your life.  If it is all about you and you push people out of your life to make your dream a reality, then it becomes a nightmare.
    Jericho had everything it needed.  The king had wealth and a steady economy, but he could never enjoy it.  He was too worried about losing everything.  He had heard the rumors about how God had promised his land to the Hebrews, but he didn't want that.  It was his.  He locked up the city tight basically imprisoning his own people to keep the Hebrews out.  It was a time of anxiously waiting for disaster to happen with no way of stopping it.

    God told Joshua that the city would be delivered to the Hebrews.  Joshua was to have his people march around the city once a day for six days with seven priest blowing trumpets in front of the ark. Not a hard job.  On the seventh day, the horns would blast and the people would shout.  On the seventh day the walls would just fall down.

    When God is in the center of the dream, then your dream will be a reality.  They followed God's instructions.  The seventh day, they marched around the city silently six times, but on the seventh they yelled and blew the trumpets.  They watched as miraculously the walls fell down.  

    They kept their word and spared Rehab's family.  They did not touch any religious items in the city.  Everything in the city was burned.  Rehab and her family became a part of the Hebrew nation.  In a way, it was Rehab's dream too.  She was getting a fresh start.  Joshua cursed the ruble of the city.  If anyone ever tried to rebuild, then they would lose their firstborn and youngest child.  God had given Joshua the power to do that.

    Seeing your dream become a reality can be many things and on many spectrum.  It can be a fresh start.  It can be holding holy power of God.  It can be a miracle.  It can be simplicity.  It can be fame or popularity.  It can have so many aspects.
