Make the Dream a Reality

A dream is just a dream without a plan.  It is something you can see in your head, but is fathomable.  It is nice to think about, but can become a point of disappointment if you don't figure out how to make your dream a reality.  There will be no instruction manual, so you will have to become creative and steadfast to make your dream a reality.
Joshua had been prepped by Moses, but it was up to him to make the nation's dream, God's promise, a reality.  He set the plan into motion, but sometimes that looks like a person is doing nothing.  He had them camp by the Jordan River for three days before they crossed.  He was consulting God and getting organized, but it looked like he was just wasting time.
They would follow the ark.  The ark always went first and would lead the way.  The people followed at a distance out of respect for God.  They trusted Joshua to lead them and to know the best way to do it.  They also understood that plans sometimes require detours.
The priest stood at the edge of the water with one man from each tribe.  The people watched to see what would happen.  The priest entered the water holding the ark.  As soon as the water touched them, it stopped and began to heap.  The ground became dry for all of them to cross.  It was the rainy season, so the river was swollen and dangerous.  This made it passable to get to the other side which was Jericho.
Taking Jericho was the first real step to make their dream a reality.  We all have to start with a dream and then a plan.  Then we have to organize that plan to make the dream something obtainable.  Once all that is done, then comes the work.  It can take years to make it happen, but if it is God's plan for you it will happen.  He will open the doors where there are no doors.
