To have a relationship with God, then you have to know, understand, and embrace the truth about Jesus. To know the truth you have to believe that there is an afterlife in hell or heaven. There are no other options. If you believe the truth then everything in your life changes.
Knowing the truth with faith gives you salvation. When you embrace it then you will start producing spiritual fruit. You live it because you know that God did not leave this world without hope. We got justification through Jesus.
When you are justified, you demonstrate righteousness. You live out righteousness because you know the truth that Jesus died for your sins. When his work was complete, it opened the door for everyone to have a personal relationship with God. All you have to do is believe the truth in your heart and declare it with your mouth.
Why did God send Jesus to live as a human? God sacrificed His son so that we would know righteousness. Jesus made it real and relational. It is not longer just a concept or far away dream. It is obtainable because Jesus was fully God and fully human. He was the only one worthy to be the sacrifice because he is the only one that lived a sinless life. Jesus is perfect, but still relatable to a certain extent.
Jesus gave up time in heaven to spend time with his people. He lived out righteousness. He showed us the truth about repentance and faith. It is the only way to walk free as a Christian. It is the only way to live. It is your adoption papers into God's family. It is the only way into Heaven.
